NIGHT <3
~
Luki stared at her wrists for a moment, remembering how miserable it had been, constantly bound. How raw her wrists felt for weeks, even after they stopped bleeding altogether. She remembered the blessed loneliness when the thing that held her left her alone. It was always interrupted by his son.. The son she had to be thankful for.. If not for him Luki would still be a plaything, an experiment.
As far as she knew, she was the only one who was contracted in such a way. All she knew was that she agreed to give the demon her body and soul in order to stay alive, to save her love on the battlefield. And she had. And then the demon killed that man, and her beloved sister. She remembered everything perfectly, the blood, how the demon had mutilated the bodies. Her confusion..
She’d wandered around for days in misery, wishing she could have died, but never succeeding in suicide. Every wound would heal, and though she’d gotten exceedingly skinny, she didn’t need to eat. By the time the incubus found her, she was no longer the beautiful lady she had been. And after the pain that demon had put her through, she knew she could never be that lady again. She also knew that she had to live..
She stared up at his as he pulled her close, more tears forming in her big blue eyes. “Please don’t cry..” she whispered, wiping his tears away with her thumb and gently pressing her lips against his cheek. She never wanted to see him in tears, it hurt her to see it. She quietly used her other thumb to wipe at his other cheek.
She didn’t want him to die. For whatever reason, she felt like she had a reason to live. And suddenly she felt grateful to him. Since her sister had died, she had seemingly lost her reason to live. Losing her twin had emptied a part of the lady, and it filled her with sadness that she couldn’t reveal.
“Undertaker..”
His name came out quiet, like her voice was going to break any second. He would never understand how she felt, and neither would she. “Don’t…”
She couldn’t finish, she couldn’t even fathom why he would put his life on the line for her. “I’m not worth it.”
His senses could feel what she was at the moment. Killing her own lover and sister is a terrible burden to live with, especially not being the one who ‘actually’ murdered them. She did a lot of thinking during her time being on this godforsaken orb as everyone else before her has. With everything that has gone on in her life, he felt in the pit of his stomach that she might’ve tried to commit suicide many times over.
He glanced down at her, those big beautiful eyes as blue as the hottest fire he’s ever seen. Her eyes were filling up with tears, showing such beautiful emotion. Her words were clouded, since he was gazing into her eyes. So mesmerizing. “I cannot stop. I prefer not to, for awhile at least. It’s been too long since these eyes have shed a tear.” Smiling at her as she wiped his tears away again. “I’m alright, tears of joy are a good thing!”
Listening to her last broken sentence, he knew she cared for him. He let go from her, reaches for her hands and holds them tight. “I’ll be alright. Don’t you worry about me.” Though he knew she did, gave him all the more reason to live.
“Has he ‘come out’ a lot recently?”
